Our Cremation Safeguards
Jersey Memorial Group cremation safeguards include owning and operating its own crematory and assigning every individual a unique identification number and a stainless steel identification disc that stays with them throughout the process.
Our Standards of Excellence
Jersey Memorial Group was founded in 2009 and is privately owned by David Lee Hernandez, Jr. and his wife Stacey. It is the largest network of privately owned funeral homes in New Jersey, uniting trusted family firms, several serving their communities since the 1800s, and operating its own crematory with a documented identification and tracking process for every individual in our care.
1) Your Loved One Is Always Cared For By Our Professionals
While every funeral home offers cremation services, you should be aware not all own a crematory and take the same care with the process. Jersey Memorial owns and operates an onsite crematory and has carefully designed procedures which are accountable and every step is managed by our staff.
2) Tracking System
Every step of your loved one’s care is documented in our tracking system and they will be assigned a unique identification number, which is stamped into a stainless steel identification disc. This number is used to track every phase of the cremation process. Our tracking system includes date and time of arrival at our facility and name of the transfer technician. Personal belongings are cataloged and placed in a secure area for their return to the family.
3) Authorizations
State law requires completion of authorization forms which we will provide to you and help you complete. In addition, we will see to it that all permits and paperwork are completed prior to cremation taking place.
4) Our Cremation Process
We only cremate one person at a time and our cremation chamber is never used for pets and animals. The metal identification tag is safeguarded during the cremation process.
5) Transfer Back To You
The only time your loved one ever leaves the care of our staff is when the cremated remains are transferred back your family. The number on the tag will be part of our company’s record keeping archive.
