Partner With Our Family

Jersey Memorial Group partners with funeral home owners who are ready to sell or transition their firm, helping them continue their legacy while keeping their home family operated.

Finding the Right Fit for Your Legacy

For many of us your business has been a huge part of your life and identity. You built it, worked it, poured time, energy and resources into it. You’ve sacrificed to get it where it is and now, and you’re ready to see it transition. No matter if your business is multigenerational or started from an idea and dream, each owner’s desire to transition may be different and the key to a successful sale is dependent upon your goals.
Jersey Memorial Group was founded in 2009 and is privately owned by David Lee Hernandez, Jr. and his wife Stacey. It is the largest network of privately owned funeral homes in New Jersey, uniting trusted family firms, several serving their communities since the 1800s, and operating its own crematory with a documented identification and tracking process for every individual in our care.
Many of the the families and owners that have transitioned over the years have done so for some, if not all, of the following reasons:
  • You’re desiring to get back to your passion of servicing families without the distractions of
    operating a business.
  • There’s no viable family or staff members to manage or transition to.
  • You have the desire for growth, and feel the need for a new strategy but do not have the
resources or desire to do so.
  • Retirement, there is no secret that funeral service is 24/7/365 and we live with constant
connection to our business and pho

Trust is Everything

This this a very important decision and having a partner that you can trust and know that what we say we will do, we will follow through is paramount. David Lee Hernandez, Jr is personally involved in each transaction; to understand the culture of your firm, the needs and desires of not only your team but of the families you service and understanding the community.

David’s viewpoint in dealing with owners is, “I enjoy spending time with owners, hearing their story, listening to their successes and how they envision the future of their firm. Having come through funeral service and understanding the commitment to families and the sacrifices we make as death care professionals it is important to always be honest, upfront, and provide as much clarity as possible”.

With 18 locations in 3 states serving over 2,000 families we are able to partner with you to meet your needs and goals, yet small enough to understand you, your team, and your commit- ment to the community.

One thing that we do know is that you’ve built something amazing, and you’re great at it. We simply want to be able to keep to the basics and enhance your firm with innovative and best-in-service care to continue your legacy.
